On 28 January 2026, Nelson Casimiro Zavale and Uwe Wilkesmann held a joint workshop at the College for Social Sciences and Humanities on the topic of “Collaboration between Universities and Industry in the Global North and the Global South.”

In addition to the presentations from the two organizers, there were very interesting talks by Dr. Ronald Kriedel (TU Dortmund University), Till Schlusen (University of Duisburg-Essen), Dr. Gero Stenke (Stifterverband), and Dr. Fernando dos Santos (former Director of the African Regional Patent Organization, Zimbabwe).

The event took place as part of the Senior Fellowship Programme at the College for Social Sciences and Humanities, where Uwe Wilkesmann has a tandem partnership with Nelson Zavale from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique.
